    Summer Wine and Big Cities

How about the multi-story car park in The Empire that Foggy Nearly Built. Okay its not really a city, but it still looks odd seeing them in a concrete environment.

    The Golden Years!!

Honley got a mention once, as did number of other places in and around Holmfirth, but never Holmfirth itself.

People who have never been seen

Maybe he was always a mechanic? Or at least something involving machines.

People who have never been seen

Definitely Dudley. A "real Dudley" as Wally said.

Blamire, Clegg and Compo weren't that old!

Compo's "bad back" only seemed to appear whenever the prospect of actual work cropped up!

Bill Owens " bent " finger.

Re: Bill Owens " bent " finger. Picture of Bill Owen with ferret is on the front cover of "A Country Companion", and on page 84. I knew I'd seen it somewhere else. But looking at it more closely it could be stuffed as Big Unc suggested.

Bill Owens " bent " finger.

Re: Bill Owens " bent " finger. I'm sure I have seen photographs of Bill holding a ferret. It was on the back of one of the VHS tapes if I remember correctly.

Who did you miss the most when they werent in the show?

If I remember rightly, on the outside it was the same library that they used in the early years. It is, in reality, a chapel.

    Wally

Nora: Are you going to just sit there while he insults me?! Wally: No, I thought I'd go and have a look at the lifeboat! Always loved that line!

    best Blamire moments

I agree with Eli Thingy. "The Changing Face..." is my favourite Blamire episode.

Who did you miss the most when they werent in the show?

    Foggy. And especially Compo.

    Regrets

I think if they couldn't get Brian Wilde to appear, then maybe they could have shown a wreath or something that had been sent by Foggy. Or as Foogy Dewhurst (!) suggested, a letter that Clegg could read out. Mind you he read out so many letters over those few episodes... I found those episodes...

    FOTSW Actors

I think maybe Sherbert didn't make it through the war. I agree, the young Wally definitely got the voice and mannerisms right. David Fenwick also did a good job as young Cleggy. Imagine playing young Norman Clegg opposite Peter Sallis. I think I'd be too nervous to do it!

Was Compo's real name William because of Bill Owen?

I know Compo mentioned his name was "Willy Simmonite" in "Who's That Dancing with Nora Batty, Then?" As far as I recall that's the earliest indication. Of course I could be lying....

First of the Summer Wine series 2 DVD - COMING SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bluprintz - The opening titles are there. If you start the episode from "Play Episode", not "1" it will play the opening titles. Question: What is the song used for the opening titles? EDIT: Never mind, it's "Sweet and Lovely" by Al Bowlly.

    Summer Wine and TV

Compo was watching Tv (well, the test card) in his bedroom in Spring Fever.

    The Flag And Further Snags

Such are the pitfalls of location filming in Great Britain! Reminds me of the Doctor Who story where they had to work into the story that the alien invasion was causing freak weather conditions because the weather kept changing on location!

    Names or surnames

I always though Michael Caine's real name, Maurice Micklewhite, sounded like a "Roy Clarke" name.

Anyone notice that Nora almost laughed

I was about to mention Mending Stuart's Leg. When Compo was chasing her around she was giggling like a schoolgirl if I remember rightly!
