    Tea Time questions.

@Rick - I think 12 different people would give 12 different answers - really dependent on personal taste! For me, it's coffee at breakfast to get me into the land of the living then Redbush tea the rest of the day.

    Renovations

Photos taken on my recent holiday, showing renovations taking place at the Bay Horse near Hade Edge (apparently it will be re-opening with its original name) and also at the "Clean Sweep" house (not far out of New Mill) which seems to be undergoing a huge makeover.

    Groovin' with Mr Bloe

That's a good track, Rick. I wasn't really into Led Zeppelin when younger, but more recently I knew people who liked them a lot and they got me into them more, and I have their "Mothership" double CD. Really like "Kashmir" also.

    Tea Time questions.

Yes, when I was working it would be 7 am - breakfast (later 7.30 when I had a job nearer home) 10 am morning tea break (or a bit later if busy) 1pm - midday meal (sandwiches, etc) or could be taken at 12 if I'd wanted. 3pm - afternoon tea break 6.30/7 pm - evening meal (more substantial cooked...

    Groovin' with Mr Bloe

Talking about music recently, I was just reminded of this record from 1970 which I liked a lot at the time. Apparently it was Harry Pitch playing on the recording, the same great harmonica player who played on the LOTSW theme. Don't think this has been mentioned before, nothing came up on a...

    Late start

Hello Peri, if you have LOTSW DVDs now is the time to watch them, or any other good comedies, as an antidote to the rain.

    Tea Time questions.

I'm with Peri on that one. Not sure what exactly went on in the days of people having servants! At work I always had elevenses though, to tide people over till lunch, with a hot drink and a couple of biscuits (cookies). We also had the same in the middle of the afternoon, but it was just...

    LotSW themed boat names

Hi Rick, the "boating music" - that's just my description of it. It's the lovely gentle music that is usually played when the trio (or maybe just two of them!) are gliding down a river or canal in a boat. A good example is in "Tarzan of the Towpath". It is identified as being called "Thrice...

    Old Photos from Huddersfield Examiner

I hope you will be able to do that walk on your visit, Marianna. As regards the photos of the station - I agree that it is a crying shame it was demolished. Very sadly that's been the case with the majority of closed stations, with subsequent developments making rebuilding/reopening of a line...

    Old Photos from Huddersfield Examiner

Was just browsing the web and found this interesting article with photos of the station. My apologies if this has been posted before, nothing obvious came to my attention on a brief search but that's not saying anything, could well be there nevertheless :)...

    Flowers for the Wellies

There is horse parsley, nice and wild too, no inroads into Compo's betting money required. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=horse+parsley&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiQ5dSPr_jjAhVRiFwKHbqdC48Q_AUIESgB&biw=1600&bih=1087

    When did the trend change

I've found it quite hard to get the "perfect" cup of tea when out and about - I like really hot tea and pots tend to cool down rather quickly unless absolutely freshly brewed. At home I like Tetley's Redbush (naturally decaffeinated) - been a fan of this ever since reading the No 1 Ladies'...

    Holiday snaps - Marsden

One of Standedge Aqueduct* seen from the Manchester road, and a photo from the centre of Marsden taken near the weir and including the iconic Mechanics Hall clock tower. *as seen at the end of "Stop That Bath" but it has undergone upgrading since then.
