    Greatest Vocalist

    What is a John Shuttleworth?

    Greatest Vocalist

I suspect the greatest lead vocalist isn't a rock and roller but in a lesser known genre. Rock never struck me as a place where great vocals were that important. Still in that genre Freddie clearly.

Pondering tech but not to Clegg's standards.

I do try. I'm frightfully socially inept though.

    Our Mister Lucas

    Interesting info. Thanks for that.

Pondering tech but not to Clegg's standards.

My phone beeped and I thought cool someone actually wants to talk to me. It was just the weather alert. I said to my self, that is ok just turn on the TV and there will be people talking. Then I wondered for a moment what people did before TV when their phones beeped and there was no one...

    The little things

That is interesting. Thanks. I do have ideas that wander away into the mists of err.... mistiness.

    The little things

I hope your campers are in slightly better shape than the place Foggy booked for a holiday by the seashore!

    The little things

Great video! I have never watched more than an episode or two of that show. Thanks for reminding me. I stupidly get it mixed up with Father Ted which I personally didn't like. I must get unmixed up and unlike Compo make my way to the vicarage and watch that series.

    The little things

I think I got lucky and got a nice butter dish, Pearl. It is glazed stonewear and seems to have nice heft to it. I no nothing about such things and might just as easily picked up something plastic as in fact I did for my soap dish! I hope that doesn't effect the taste of the soap! ;)

    The little things

Little things can make life better. I just got a butter dish and soft butter is way better than hard butter. Everyone should have a butter dish! What little things do you suggest?

    Our Mister Lucas

Lots of guest appearances to look forward too! Thanks for all those remembrances of guest appearances. I should remember more of them but I must admit that a lot of these shows in Season 14 I don't really remember. I'm having fun as Auntie Wainwright is quite a character and Howard is usually a...

    Our Mister Lucas

I'm oft jealous of folks who grew up with all the British TV shows and can be delighted no end by the various and sundry guest stars on Last of the Summer Wine. With much less knowledge, I rarely recognize them for the cultural icons, one and all, that they are. Fortunately PBS over here on the...

    Favorite Howard ideas?

What daft thing that Howard came up with to see Marina did you most enjoy? I liked it when he was a secret agent man. X=22 I think he was in a raincoat and dark glasses.

    Goodbye Seymour, Hello Foggy

I'm only on season 13. I got slowed down watching Good Life, but it was a nice little rabbit trail. The second Foggy years are quite nice as well as the Seymour years. I do like the feeling of the town a bit more and the extra folks give the show a bit more interest and more stories to tell.

    Goodbye Seymour, Hello Foggy

Actually yes I did. Some nice foreshadowing there!

    Back and There Again

I was thinking of any program. Trying to figure out of the character of Foggy doing years on the show, leaving for years and then returning for years was unique?

    Back and There Again

How many actors have ever starred in a series, left that series for years and then returned to star in the series again for many seasons?

    Why Specials?

Thank you for that great explanation and something of a history of these specials. I had no idea that Last of the Summer Wine played such a big role in the overall making of comedy specials.

    Why Specials?

Certainly not exclusive to Last of the Summer Wine, but I've noticed that many regular British series do fairly long and often rather different specials for the holidays. They stand out from the regular episodes. The TV makers on the other side of the pond part ways. We do have holiday...
