    Aren't councils silly!

Birmingham New St. station (the Black Hole) is free, but originally had turnstiles, so the entrances to most of the loos are large enough park an elephant. I'm tired, I can't think of a better ... thingummy.

Best way to get around to filming sites around Holmfirth?

... and any of the places you miss will probably be in my video series on YouTube. But, some locations are not directly accessible from the road!

    Shops no more....

I live in a village, (moved from Brum last July) we do have a post office in a convenience store and a mini Co-op, but for a bank I think I'd need to go to MK, cos I don't remember seeing one in Stony Stratford. Oh, but I think the bank in MK Centre has closed ... ummm... My mobile is too old to...

Fortunately my "A" camera has two cards that simultaneously record... it was the card on the "B" camera that failed. There is a place for people like @mashibinbin ...

    Have Patience...

... cos I'm losing mine! Next, little, video will be delayed due to a camera memory card, ummm ... losing it's memory. Pete is going to try and recover the data from it. That worked before when filming on location with no possibility of a re-shoot, so fingers crossed!

    Shops no more....

You're more-or-less right. It's the same era... Home and Colonial Stores was once one of the UK’s largest retail chains. Formed in the late 1920s, they sold goods imported from European Colonies. In FOTSW, Co-Op manger when Mr Scrimshaw thinks the girls are giving excess butter in the packs he...

    Shops no more....

I can sympathise. On one of my filming trips to Holmfirth my "on screen" jeans got very wet and caked in mud. Popped in to Tesco to see if they had anything similar - it was late, after other shops closed - but nothing. Ended up washing the jeans in the bath. Luckily they dried on the radiator...

    Shops no more....

We had a mobile shop - once a week, that would have been mid 1970's - like a daytime milkman round, with daily "essentials". It's basically come back now, with ordering from milkandmore.co.uk

Nearly *not* the longest running sitcom in history.

I hope to have a video ready in about a week to ten days (related to a book you sent me). I have a number of short series written (3, 4 ,5 videos) that will follow soon-ish. The 9-part series has to wait until I have funds to travel for filming.

sorry, it's not in my list of potential video subjects, so I didn't save the reference... update, source: Craig Charles in a recent Radio Times interview.

Nearly *not* the longest running sitcom in history.

The space travelling sitcom Red Dwarf was supposed to have a new series this year, but for undisclosed reasons it seems to be on hold. Had the series aired it would technically have been running for 37 years, equalling the Summer Wine record. However, during that period Red Dwarf has only had 13...
