    Favourite scene.

I have a picture of that bridge that I use as a screensaver on my computer. I also heard that the town pulled down the outdoor stone shelter because of vandalism that so many scenes were filmed in. Very sad if that is true.

When did you prefer the incidental music?

I've always thought it funny when Auntie Wainwright was on the verge of sale, she would twiddle her fingertips together and they played little "tinkling" notes when she did it. Also I liked how they played the Summer Wine theme tune in a different way that reminded you of something else. For...

When did you prefer the theme tune?

I prefer the slower version. I not only watch LOTSW for the great humor, but also for the stress relief it seems to provide. The slower tune seems even more calming, if that's possible.

    Mistakes

In "Who's Got Rhythem?", when the trio comes out of Aintie Wainwright's with Compo's one man band, you see Clegg carrying a black and white ceramic dog that Auntie has sold him. But in the following episode during an outside shot of Auntie's shop, when they start doing a close-up of Foggy...

    Confessions of a Newbie

Hello all. When I first found this wonderful show, it was in the later years of Truly and some of the Hobbo episodes. I started watching because I saw Frank Thornton was in it, and I'm a huge fan of AYBS, of which I have the complete boxed DVD series. I was hooked on Last of the Summer Wine from...

    It wouldn't be allowed today

Codfanglers, yes I agree, the characters are very similar. Also, the non pc is what makes those shows work. My absolute favorite "family friendly" show I enjoy the most here in the States is The Andy Griffith Show. I was just as sad and upset when Andy died as I was when Bill Owen died. There...

    It wouldn't be allowed today

I'm American, I live in south Alabama on the gulf coast. I first got into watching British shows about 30 yrs. ago and got hooked. I've always liked their type of humor, which can be plentiful in non pc jokes, especially the older the show is. It's part of why I watch them. I'm also white and...

I would also be willing to bet any Asian watching today is probably offended when they see Smiler dressed as Alladin.

In one episode, Foggy was commenting about Orientals being flexable and that it made unsanitary situations easier. To which Clegg replied, "and it makes their eyes slant too".

Compo hitting others with his hat

In Greenfingers, Compo was hitting Foggy because his wellie was stuck up on the giant carrot.
