Spot on, Ellen! I didn't like either of those characters either. I also didn't like the Amos character in Bandit From Stoke On Trent. There was, as usual, some funny lines from the trio, but the Amos character grated on my nerves.

I'm sure there must have been at least one time that Foggy used the name Compo, I just don't recall when. However, when Foggy was first introduced to the show, in the scene where they met him at the bus stop, as Foggy is exiting the bus he looks at them and says; Clegg? (Clegg nods), Simmonite...

Clegg (to Compo): finished your bun already? Foggy: It went like a ball down a drain pipe. Foggy (on Compo's eating style): It's like watching men fork hay through a barn door.

Foggy is still my favorite 3rd man regardless of his 1st or 2nd run. There are things about his character's personality I really like in his 1st run, but I also like how he had mellowed out some and got rid of that damn striped scarf. ;) Something I also have wondered about, he must have had 2...

I think maybe putting it in the saucer cooled it down quicker. Plus it was probably a life-long habit Compo couldn't break, he just did it without even thinking about it.

Technically, it's not the Dallas theme. When you listen closely, it's the Summer Wine theme played with trumpets at a faster tempo.

I love this episode, probably in my Top Ten. I always laugh when they are tripping over the wires tryin to get away.

Re: Series 25 & 26 DVD on the Way? I have the "Are You Being Served?" full series of episodes. They were my favorite British comedy show, that is until I discovered the Summer Wine magic 5 years ago. :D I still love them, but they had to take second place.
