You are right Susan, We should, and I do, always say Christmas. The one I hate most is 'Crimbo'. This to my mind is lazy, disrespectful, and it trivialises the whole meaning of the day. It seems to come from the North of England, but it is spreading South, sadly. Happy Christmas to you all. Sue.

I do like to see the New Year, in. But from the comfort of my arm chair. with fireworks on the TV. Boring? possibly, but it is how we like it.

Thank you for that, I am glad to be able to agree with you. It was always meant to be a three man show, the titles made this clear, all of the combinations of 'stars' came alphabetically, even when Russ Abbott (shudder) came along.

Oh, sorry, Unc, Our local steam railway, The Watercress Line, runs regular trips, Summer and Winter, with a five course dinner. They are rather expensive, £60 per head, but still good value. This Christmas the menu was Watercress Soup, Pate, Roast Gammon Steak with a ginger beer and tangerine...

I am not too keen on the camper myself, but I did admire the way my son took this rusting heap of junk and turned it into much loved vehicle. He also has a 'beetle' which is called blossom, also pink and cherished.

We had horseraddish cheese sometime ago on a meal train, I loved that.
