Cast That Had The 'Yourksheer' Accent

Sorry to say this, but I can't tell the difference between Lancashire, Yorkshire, and even Derbyshire. They all sound the same. Counties that border each other all have the same trouble, they mingle!

We demand a Knighthood for Cleggy

We love them too, well most of them anyway. They are good for this country.

    Charity shops

I did not realise just how much work and thought went into these shops until my daughter went to work there. She has been on seminars, courses, and since being made manageress she has to go to meetings regularly. They have to change the stock on the shelves every week, nothing stays there longer...

Cast That Had The 'Yourksheer' Accent

Compo's only came later after about six series. Wesley would be cross to be left off. Gordon Wharmby was a 'professional' Yorkshire man, he could see no good in anything outside his own county.

    Grandma Batty's Traditional Yorkshire Pudding

It sounds like Russ Abbotts interpretation of a Scotsman.

We demand a Knighthood for Cleggy

I am, as always Unc, on your team. I like to see the honors go to the ordinary man in the street who has contibuted in some way to charities etc. I knew a man who worked for Whimpey (sp) the builders that is not the burger place. They were awarded one OBE for good works, so they pulled a name...

    Grandma Batty's Traditional Yorkshire Pudding

Traditional Yorkshire Pudding. Hm. I have a tea cloth with a 'Yorkshire pudding' recipe. I says that this was just an English batter pudding until a Yorkshire woman called Hannah Glasse, hijacked it for her cookery book in the 1700s. I watched a cookery program once with two Yorkshire chefs...

    Charity shops

I was at a party last year, down here in Surrey. One of the guests lives in Shelley, not too far from Holmfirth. She told me she worked in a charity shop in Holmfirth. We have been there and they have used it in an episode. One of the later ones where Nora and Ivy are volunteers.

My internet and phone keep breaking down

Ther was an episode in 'Frost' where he was working out and went into a sports shop to buy Plimsoles. The blank stare he got from the salesman said it all.

    Later Characters

I Loved Miss Davenport, but I felt she was never quite accepted on acount of her not being 'native Yorkshire'!!! Marina liked her, but she was an outsider for different reasons.

What is your most popular episode?

I am starting to like the later episodes more and more. Apart from that I like the episode I am watching best!

    Is Lewis Ending???

What a nice finish to the show. Lewis and Hathaway were such unlikely 'mates'. Unlike Morse, Robbie Lewis was so very human. I do like a happy ending.

    Charity shops

Tam says that the only way she can get that number of bags is to stand in the street and threaten people. Yesterday she put out a coat worth £100 at the knock down price of £40. It was stolen within minutes. But don't let me put you off, the job in it's self is rewarding and fun. You certainly...
