    Holmfirth.

Many, many, years ago, Bill Owen appeared on a Saturday morning show called 'The Multi Coloured Swap Shop'. He was a guest of Noel Edmunds. He was wearing a sweater with Holmfirth written across it. That was the first time that I had ever heard of the town.

Actors who appeared over the years in different roles

I did a quiz that Alan Bell set for The Appreciation Society. One question was, 'name Gordon Wharmby's first appearance in Last of the Summer Wine'. The answer was 'man on bus' in the episode Forked Lightening. You need to watch really closely. I think it comes after they try to get on the bus...

    New Tricks??

This show must be coming to an end soon. Dennis Waterman looked very old in the last episode. I am sorry that they did not introduce Nicholas Lyndhurst before in stead of Dennis Lawson, it may have lasted longer.

    Children

I think that because Roy Clarke was invited to write about old men originally he may have thought that too many children would complicate things. If you remember the first few series had far less characters. It wasn't until Uncle of the Bride that we had any regular young people.

    A Clean Sweep

    The perfect come back

Good one George. Slightly different, but I have just moved into the spare room and into the single bed which it holds. Himself is still in the main bedroom and in a double bed. I said the the only worry was the if our friend came to stay she and I would need to toss as to which of us would move...

Exaxtly, Susan, my brother-in-law collected the meds for himself, me, and the husband. He thought about taking a wheel barrow!! If we had to pay we could never afford it.

    Just wondering

Many many years ago, Peter Sallis was on Breakfast TV. He was asked if he ever ad-libbed. He replied that you just didn't dare! I do know from other interviews that, Roy Clarke, is very jealous of his writing and won't accept anyone else writing about 'his' characters.
