    Arnold Street

I've heard Clegg mention this location several times, but have the trio ever visited there in any episode?

    Box sets

Checked the www.bbcamericashop.com online catalog the other day, and nothing so far. The last thing to come out on DVD was the 1993 series in mid July 2012, but that's it. I was hoping another volume would come out this year.

    Repetitive?

Compo seemed to call Foggy a "pillock" quite a lot, and Clegg made many references to some address on Arnold Street, but that wasn't repetitive in a bad way. Just something I happened to notice.

    two Blamire-era episodes in particular

Remember the abandoned house the trio took Armpepper to so he could dry off in "Ballad For Wind Instruments And Canoe"? Was that the same building the trio gathered in in "Inventor Of The 40-Foot Ferret"? It looks like the same building in both episodes, although if I'm wrong, please let me know.

    Car And Garter

That reminds me. Was Wesley's shed always in the same location throughout the series?

    Car And Garter

A great episode for sure, not only for the introduction of Wesley Pegden to the series, but I also loved the intro where the trio go back and forth over how to get marmalade off a ferret. Only they could make something like that hilarious! Please post your thoughts on this episode.

    Geoffrey Hughes RIP

Heard about Geoffrey's passing earlier today. As a matter of fact, Keeping Up Appearances is on the TV right now as I type this. A great comedic actor for sure. Nobody could play Onslow like he did. Rest in peace Geoffrey, and thanks for all the laughter.

1 word that non summer wine fans think of the show?

Maybe those who don't appreciate the subtle, dry humor of the early years might refer to it as "dull", but I certainly don't see it that way. The beauty of the show is in its simplicity and understated nature, and I feel that's why it has endured for as long as it did.

just realised Bill Owen died 13 years ago last thursday

Nobody could play a scruffy person with a childlike outlook on life quite like he could! Rest in peace Bill, and I hope you're making them laugh in Heaven!

How did you get into Last of the Summer Wine

I believe it was around 2007 when an American public television station in my area broadcasted an episode entitled "Sinclair And The Wormley Witches". I was immediately hooked after noticing Frank Thornton was in it, and I remembered him fondly from his role as Captain Peacock in Are You Being...

Absolutely love that episode! Compo -- "My goggles are steaming up!"

    In The Service Of Humanity

Your comments on this episode. Definitely a prime example of Foggy's plans to do good going completely haywire, especially when he gets punched in the nose after intervening between two drivers involved in a fender-bender. Stealing the ladder and leaving the worker stranded on the roof was...

    favorite Compo/Nora moments

I'm talking about the moments when he would comment on her wrinkled stockings or try to steal a kiss and/or hug from her. What episodes come to mind for you? There were so many classic moments, I don't think I can narrow it down to just one or two.

    Later Characters

I always thought Miss Davenport's disappointment at how un-romantic life is created some funny moments. Noteworthy mention also goes to Eric Sykes's appearance as Doggy Wilkinson.

    best Sid moments

He and Ivy going back and forth was always funny, and whenever he got roped into helping out the trio with one of their schemes. Hauling around Sam's body in "Getting Sam Home" in his fish and chip van was a noteworthy moment.
