A friend had a white kitten which was deaf. The dogs from next door, who were trained to chase cats, caught it in the garden and ripped it to pieces. I know you are a nice person really, but please don't set your lovely dog on to any cats. Some of us love them. I would never be unkind to a dog...

    lotsw danbury badge pins

I considered it, but they are expensive and in our little house it would be hard to display them. So I gave them a miss. I have the 25 year plate. I have just realised that it is rather old now.

New Station Dedicated to BBC programs 24/7

Good neighbours ( The Good Life over here), Monarch of the Glen, and I love Outnumbered as it is so different to other shows. The children run the show pretty much and are given very little in the way of scrips. They are, as I understand it, given an idea and left to chat about it under their...

    Hobbo Coming Next!

I was the same. I think it was the way he was introduced, straight in, no warning, and the fact that PeterSallis and FrankThornton were relegated to the ranks so to speak. But the episodes are rather funny all the same.

    Best book u have read

I have said that Terry Pratchett is a favourite, but Richmal Crompton's, Just William, runs him a close second. I always think that Roy Clarke must also be a William fan. Compo and Co roaming about getting into mischief are so like William and his gang of 'Outlaws'.

    Best book u have read

I must say Hi to another TP fan. I love him. My favourites are the guards and the witches, especially Tiffiny Aching. And of course the lovely Susan. Terry writes about fantasy creatures with a very human feel about them.

We have always had cats. Our fluffy grey 'Billy' has a friend who could be his twin. Humphrey calls round most mornings and they go off into the garden for an hour or so to play. Humphrey then goes off home and Billy comes indoors and that is that it until tomorrow.

    Off on the jolly holidays

Is Inverness the place where they have this really shakey foot bridge. It most be thirty years since we were there, but I still remember thinking that I was having a 'turn'. Have a good time.

They are about half the size now. I remember them being the size of a tea plate and a lot thicker as well.

    Sweets

I think I said Horlicks Tablets, which was what I am used to call them, I loved them. And I forgot Violet Cashews. Most of these sweets are available in the open air museums and there is this wonderful sweet shop in Poole which does lots of them.

    Fish & Chips

Re: Fish & Chips As a wartime baby you can imagine that I have seen many dietry changes over the years. Mayonnaise is one of them. As a child and a young woman I did not even know what it was, we had brown sauce or tomato sauce and very occasionally, salad cream. Now we have to have 'mayo' with...

    The Flag And Further Snags

I have the disc of The Summer Wine Tour. At one location they are talking about the weather, someone says that light rain doesn't show up on film. I am not sure if this is true or not

    An American fan

Hi Terry. I have just had a visit from a friend who lives in Atlanta. She liked our country very much. I hope you get to visit Holmfirth and the surrounding area. We have travelled up from Surrey many times and loved it.
