    Pets

We have always had at least one cat. We are retired and after our last cat 'went home' we decided that we would never have another! However our son and his wife were boarding two cats who both had kittens at the same time so we took on Bilbo Baggins. He is a lovely long haired grey tabby. He is...

    Tom

The day that he was left in charge of the police car was my favourite Tom moment. A call came over the radio and he answered 'Hello' and then in answer to the obvious question, who are you? he said 'it's Tom'. It wasn't what he said, it was the way he said it.

    Clegg's trophies.

I have often wondered just why our Norm, has what look like sporting trophies in his display cabinet. Can he be a super athlete in disguise? Or are they for less obvious skills, lino layer of the month perhaps! I doubt they were his father's, unless they were for painting gates, and his mother...

I was a member of the society for many years, still am as far as I know, but I have not heard from Clive Eardly (president) for a very long time. The magazine stopped coming years ago. And the website was run by Patrick Brooke, I think he had becaome too busy with family comitments to carry on.

I wonder what happened to the money they collected! I contibuted and have heard nothing since. As to why the statue did appear, I read that the council turned it down.

    Ivy's concoctions.

My north country aunt was going to a Pie and Pea supper. I wonder what sort of pie this would be. She said that the food was served on paper plates which started to disintergrate rather quickly so you had to eat up fast.

    Auf Wiedersehen pet

I am a southerner born and bred, but my mother was a Geordie. Most of my relatives still live in Jarrow. In my family I have noticed that the younger members are easier to understand, some of the older ones still sound like Oz! Can I just mention that my Grandad was on the Jarrow March. All of...
