    Been Out

No, it was about a Medical Centre, the nurses and their families. Pam Ferris from The Darling Buds of May was in the first few series. The town was called Skelthwaight I think. I loved this show, but it was decided that there was not room for it and The Royal, so I lost out on a favourite. Once...

    British Restaurants or Cafes

I try not to recommend places these days as you can bet your life by the time a friend visits there will have been a change of hands or chef and the whole thing will be spoiled.

    Been Out

Isn't there also a pub called The Silent Woman, in Slaithwaite? I think it is the one they used in 'Where The Heart Is', the lovely medical show which they dumped in favour of The Royal.

    British Restaurants or Cafes

I live in Surrey so I can't help much with your guide, but there is a garden centre in the village of Shelley which is excellent for snacks as well as having a glorious view. I am not sure if it comes in West Yorkshire, or if it is too far up.

Pubs used to be the place for a snack meal, but they seem to have all gone 'up market'. One of my biggest...

    What is your Favourite Sandwich

When we were staying in Holfirth at The Old Bridge we had hot beef sandwiches which came served on a plate of gravy. It was a bit messy to eat, but nice.

    What is your Favourite Sandwich

Didn't Charlie Brown like peanut and jelly sandwiches 'folded over' rather than cut.

    What is your Favourite Sandwich

White sliced bread and butter with sweet biscuits for me. The husband likes jam sandwiches dipped in his tea. He was on the buildings in the days before 'cling film'.

    Talk of Birthdays

There has been a lot of mention of birthdays lately which made me think that I must be probably the oldest member (a frightening thought), but I worked it out that Dilys' baby would be the same age as me!!!!!

1 word that non summer wine fans think of the show?

Which probably tells us more about the young people than it does about the show.
