Although technically English I could see Angela Lansbury playing a brilliant Auntie Wainwright. She was outstanding when I saw her play Madam Arcati and I think that character does have parallels with Auntie.

If a US version of our sitcom were ever made who would you have playing each character (living or dead) I'll start I can imagine Danny Devito would make a great Compo.....

I'd also question what performing arts prowess Waldo brought to the series.......

I agree that Eva was out of tune for the series, and i also found he quite wooden in the episode. I do appreciate she'd done much better work earlier in her career.

Weren't there electric versions which did the same, basically a big tea urn above the sink? I vaguely recall these in my youth at village hall kitchens etc but you rarely see them today.

I don't think YouTube gives a proverbial monkey's tbh. Provided they get enough viewers to view their ads they're happy and seem unconcerned. The AI videos on there now drive me mad, people trying to cash in whilst putting in zero effort at the same time :mad:

Hi Atb90, welcome to the forum. This is an old fashioned hot water dispenser I think, I'm just about old enough to remember them. I think they were common before you had centrally heated water, but I'm sure someone will elaborate/correct me if I'm wrong.

My cat does exactly the same, when I'm on works video calls she often decides to stand in front of the webcam to the merriment of most who are in on the call :oops:
