    Darn Pigeons

One of my old boyfriends used to go out when it was just dark with a wadded paper towel. He'd toss it in the air for the bats to chase. They must have thought it was a gigantic white moth!

    Minimum Height?

To expand on Roger's comment, how about a minimum age? The female officer and the male to her left both look about 12 years old! Or am I showing my age (80 years old)?

    Darn Pigeons

Presumably, you're not harboring any crop-eating insects there.

    Darn Pigeons

I haven't moved around very much, so my experience is limited. But everywhere I've lived, there have been bats keeping the nocturnal crop-eating insects under control.

    Taming Farcebook

I'm not quite that selective, but I do limit my friends to people I've met in person and liked, including all of my many cousins, mostly in California - the other side of the country.

    On two Wheels.

It probably was a Schwinn, since that was the standard brand in 1951.

Never Mind the internet going down

Back in the day, when desk-top computers were new and I was using Volkswriter at work, and the idea of spelling and grammar checkers wasn't even a gleam in anyone's eye, I always kept a copy of Webster's next to the keyboard.

    A Train to Sid's Cafe

Several years ago, when Corning, NY still had a local newspaper, on April 1st there was a front-page composite photo of a passenger train in Centerway Square, in front of the former location of the New York Central Station (now a parking garage). There were hundreds of responses to the effect of...

    The Till

Thanks for the sympathy, Captain Clutterbuck and RickAns. I'm just pleased to have survived sepsis and the kidney infection that caused it. The budget will recover in a few years and eventually I'll regain my health, as well. Then I'll go back to spending on a few luxuries like an induction cooktop.

    The Till

Not yet. Been spending too much on out-of-pocket nursing home fees and out-patient physical therapy following a bout of sepsis.

Pear Drops. (I've seen them mentioned in a few of the mysteries I've read recently, but I've never seen or tasted them.)

    Spot in the Shop

I don't know if it's still on the market here. I've used Barkeeper's Friend for so many decades that I haven't paid any attention to the rest of that supermarket shelf. Anyway, the only items I have that need polishing are the stainless steel kitchen sink and a set of rarely used stainless steel...

    Spot in the Shop

Sorry about that! I didn't notice that the picture wasn't part of Terry's original post. Coffee must not have kicked in yet.

    A first class prat.

Being from the colonies, but with my mind on the UK since childhood, the answer is yes.

Just some undersized, scruffy little twit.

Windows 11 & Chrome: I can view it, and hear it, and read the captions. All that with a computer that's so old and slow that I'd like to give it a swift kick most of the time.

    Cool Neck

The third photo is labeled, "Hardcore airflow multiplied Cooing". What??!! Pigeons?
