    ladders

It wasn't Truly Gremlin, it was a Seymour episode, "Set the people free", where they used the landrover as the emergency vehicle. Regarding the OP, i'm sure Howard bent the ladder trying to escape from the bedroom window, he then gets Barry to reverse over it with his car to straighten it, i...

    Wally's motorcycle

We seem to have had a similar start to our motoring, Barmpot. I started off in 1970 on a Honda 50 Step-through, then a BSA C15 250cc, passed my test in '73 and bought a Reliant Regal van, a 1967 model with the 600cc engine, the Robins had a 750, then an 850 engine in them, i've had quite a few...

    The Frozen Turkey Man

Yes, i was also a member of Summer wine online, i think i joined in 2004 or 2005. It's a bit strange seeing it as i last saw it, which was a couple of years ago, shame they never got a sponsor. Staying with the topic, Frozen Turkey Man is one of those episodes that i watch occasionally, it's...

    Wet Episodes

It was raining in "The flag and further snags" i think, when all three are on the footbridge, Foggy has his brolly up. G ; )

It is a Sad Day When

Times have changed, probably for the worse. I've been watching a load of Steptoe & son episodes on Youtube over the last few days and i enjoyed them immensely, same with dads army, porridge and rising damp. I suspect that quite a few of us are in our later years, i'm 58 and i enjoy comedy...

Yep, same here, one of my all time favorites of the Seymour era. G ; )

    Box sets

I suppose i'm just being a bit anal, i like the boxes on the dresser shelf, they look good with me Dads Army and Rising Damp etc, DVD's. But you are right, i may transfer the discs to jewel cases but leave the boxes on the shelf, 'cos they look good. The easiest way to release a stubborn CD/DVD...

    Repetitive?

To be honest, the opening scenes to many of the episodes used to wind me up a bit. The repetitive parts of Compo sliding the bedroom window open, to hassle Nora got a bit wearing for me, as it did when he used to tramp round to her house and ring the bell, it was obvious how it was going to end...

Bill Owens " bent " finger.

Re: Bill Owens " bent " finger. I've noticed that he holds his fingers in various ways when he does certain things, i'm guessing arthritis. G ; )

    Box sets

Slightly off topic but has anyone else had problems with "loose" DVD's in their box sets? A couple of mine won't stay in place and end up rattling about inside the case, i have to be very careful when opening the case, less it falls out. G ; )

    Mistakes

Was watching "Welcome to earth" last night and the bit that winds me up, is when all the cars are arriving at the field and Foggy is saying "turn your lights off"...but he says it after the cars have already turned their lights off. Still one of my favorite episodes though.."Mostyn is a genius"...

    Where were you?

I can't really remember where i was when Kennedy or John Lennon died, although with Diana, i was in the studio when it was announced on the radio, i can remember probably Radio one, was playing chilled out music all day, no talking, just music, a very sad day indeed. The Twin towers was a bit...

    Coastal Resort

I also live five minutes from the sea, the view from my window is the Menai straights, that separates Anglesey from the mainland, where i live. As a kid, we used to have our annual holidays at either Ocean Edge caravan park in Heysham, Morecambe, or at a caravan park in Rhyl, North Wales...

jap cars top reliability chart again! Good old reliable Honda on top again!

Well, after over 40-odd years of probably nigh-on a hundred or so cars and bikes, of all makes and sizes, i can well understand the Japanese cars coming out on top. Ok, in the 60's and 70's, they certainly had a reputation for rotting before your eyes (Datsun 120?), although the engines and...
