New Episode on Monday BBC1 21.25

According to my TV Times there is a New series starting with the first episode on Monday night at 21.25

Makes me sad, I always recall reading the Radio Times for details of new episodes....

If shows move channels including terrestrial to satellite they are often billed as New Series which I always found strange though now they seem to use terms like new to u and gold for example.

Seems unusual, not being the early Sunday evenings we got used to in the end.

Possibly. At that time, Summer Wine wasn't so "family orientated" as it was in later years. My research shows that the first series to be regularly aired on Sundays was series 9 in 1986.

In it's early years this time slot would be suitable for the show. Whilst still highly watchable from the outset it was far from cosy viewing in the beginning.
