Since our favourite show ended. So glad it lives on through this wonderful site and repeats and of course DVD. No show will ever be like it. Still as fresh as day 1.
It was green and white. I think it was the same jacket he wore when they all went to Scarbrough in The Boarding House Bathroom Caper and Cheering Up Gordon. Compo did have a yellow and black one once, but I think it was a later 1990s...
We have two cats and as any cat person will know they like to have a special place to sleep. Ours have a favourite for a while then change. Nova, black and white "tuxedo" moggy, is currently asleep on an old duvet on top of my wardrobe...
Although technically English I could see Angela Lansbury playing a brilliant Auntie Wainwright. She was outstanding when I saw her play Madam Arcati and I think that character does have parallels with Auntie.
I have seen far too many attempts to create American versions of our older favourite shows (Red Dwarf, Faulty Towers for starters) which were appalling!
Very sorry to our wonderful American brethren, no offence meant.
