I apologise for my amateur effort at writing lyrics but i enjoyed doing it.Hopefully some of you will have a go.

The last of the wine has gone
No more drinks for anyone
The glass is an empty one
The taste will linger on

And though you are there no more
Just echoes of what went before
I still will see the memories
Of having childlike fun

The wine it will stay with me,deep in my heart
The taste will stay just as sweet,now we're apart

The thought of our friends all gone
Like time itself is passing on
The sadness of the setting sun
Upon our Summer Wine
 
there wonderful george, almost as gud as the official ones
 
They are too good to actually listen to them, I´d start crying :'(! I do with the original ones too.
 
Sterling effort George, well thought out lyrics and very poignant.
 
Brilliant effort, very similar to the theme tune. If you had written that whilst it was on they might have changed it your version! ;D
