I used to love Nellie Pledge captain,she'd have made a great domineering wife in Summerwine,although she came from the wrong side of the Pennines.During the 1990's while busy with Summer Wine our own Marina,Jean Fergusson wrote and starred in a one woman play in Londons West End about Hylda Baker,called She Knows You Know.

I watched a couple of episodes of Nearest and Dearest tonight on Youtube,it was great to see them,brought back lots of memories as well,might buy a DVD of one of the series,it was great to see Joe Gladwin as Stan in there too.
