The Other One

The Other One is a largely forgotten sitcom.

It is available to watch on YouTube.

The Other One was written by the writers of The Good life and Ever Decreasing Circles - and like those two shows it starred Richard Briers. Michael Gambon co-stars.

Though not very successful at the time (1977, 1979) this show is an undiscovered masterpiece.

The first couple of shows are perhaps the weakest, and slowest, but the show does improve.

The premise of the show features Briers as a seen it all, been there, done that type - yet it soon becomes apparent he isn't as worldly as he pretends. Gambon is the naive innocent he befriends.

Most of the first series is set is Spain, till they return to England. The second series sees them travelling Britain working as reps.

This show is worth noting for LOTSWs Ronnie Hazlehurst's music. Ronnie did so many BBC comedy shows of this period.

If you're fed up with modern tv rubbish, give this old show a go.
