Shortly before the new year, my publisher (Ten Acre Books) revealed that a project has been working on for a long time now is set to be unleashed onto the world later this year. There is a lot more information to come – including the proper title – but at some point in 2026 the first ever biography of Sir Roy Clarke will be published.
To say that it is an honour that Roy has chosen to trust me is an understatement and it has been the pleasure of a lifetime getting to know him better. He was never going to write an autobiography, but he has been very generously involved in the writing of this authorised book, which is drawn from hours of interviews, material from his archives, and thoughts from friends and colleagues.
Roy was born in 1930 and is still writing in 2026, so there's a LOT to cover and I'm still adding to the biography's ever growing pagecount! My hope is that everything that possibly can be covered will be covered...
I'm a terrible forum poster, but I'll do my best to keep any interested parties updated with news here as soon as I'm allowed to share it!
