Why did he quit LOTSW? The charactar of Seymoor was just beginning to be accepted and people were forgetting about Foggy, did he have some disagreement with the cast or Roy Clarke? Was it ill health?
Perhaps he could have returned a second time like Brian Wilde, had he not died in 1994.
 
I believe Michael's wife became ill and he wanted to be there for her. He was fitting nicely into his role as Seymour and the episodes were great!
