I do not believe it!

My telephone neither rings out nor accepts incoming calls at present: has happened before, something has got stuck somewhere and needs a "boot" in the right place. As my service provider also supplies internet I have been able in the past to e mail and suddenly it all works.

This morning - check to e mail, no I have to telephone for free, mind you, from my land line to report the fault!

Unfortunately I tend not to hear too well on mobile calls and being an 084..... number would not be cheap, especuially the amount of time you have to wait. I am reminded of a parable about wise and foolish virgins but I thought better of it when I e mailed my concerns, which I had to do as a complaint!

I got an answer:

We're sorry to hear that you're unable to receive or make out calls.

It looks your query can be resolved by our technical team. Please call
our team on 151 for free from any Virgin Media Phone or 0845 454 1111
from any other phone line and we'll be happy to help you further.

As we are unable to carry out the necessary checks via e-mail or letter,
we do need to speak to you if you are having a problem with your
service. This is the quickest and most efficient way of diagnosing the
problem and getting an engineer to you quickly if needed - so please do
make sure you call!

so I replied:

I think you have missed the entire point of my problem.

You suggest telephoning - my telephone did not work!

Ah well, perhaps I should have an alternative land line installed - just in case!

It's amazing the amount of utter buffoons you can encounter in any given agency at any time when you need a problem resolving.

PERHAPS THE PROPER ANSWER WAS NOT IN THE SCRIPT THEY USUALLY SEEM TO QUOTE FROM!! ::)
