Has Firefox changed something?

Sorry not been here for a few days but Firefox seemed to shifted to Yahoo not Google and it means I lost the links I had to access this, and other sites!

Do not like Yahoo layout and having trouble spotting everything in a favourites box as there are so many small letters and no symbols!

Any of you technical guys out there know anything about it.

I have to use Firefox because it is the only way I can access a google based account for an organisation whose newsletter I prepare othersiw I would hve to have over 5000 emails in my own account as we are not allowed to delete them - which I do on my own.

I am not quite sure what you are trying to achieve are you simply hoping to be presented with Google search engine when you open Firefox for the first time and in subsequent new tabs ? Clearly you can open up Firefox and select options from the three bar symbol at the end of the search bar [top right] . You can set the home page to www.google.co.uk so when you open Firefox you are presented with that google page by default from which you can then sign in. The new tab bit to ensure every time you open Google when you click new tab is a little more complicated . You need to go to

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/

This takes you to an add on page if you select options from the new tab override[browser.newtab.url replacement] that takes you to a page where you can set the url for any new tab so setting to www.google.co.uk will ensure you always go to Google home page.

Apologies Barmpot is I have misconstrued what you were trying to achieve.

The trouble is you do a simple update to a small piece of software like adobe reader or similar, and if you don't look for and untick the add their preferred search engine, then it changes your search preference, Adobe are also good at adding McAfee to your pc, other than being pretty useless as a anti virus checker it is also difficult to remove, often needing a special removal software from McAfee's web site, I have seen in the specialist mags that McAfee is almost as bad as a virus when it comes to removing it
