Confused on this one

But to play a dvd you need a TV. If you possess a TV then I thought it was necessary to have a BBC TV licence.

I think the licence will need to be reviewed by government because the ratings for watching BBC channels have decreased substantially due to subscription channels.

I know the licence only pays for BBC, but it might as well pay for everything, since you must have one before you can even own a television, whether you watch BBC on it or not.
 
I suppose we've the BBC licence payers to thank for our wonderful series, as without them this forum wouldn't exist!
 
At the moment I have a free licence. However 90% of my viewing is the sports channels as I am an avid Cricket fan !:08:
I'm the same, but as I only really watch the cricket I find it cheaper to just to temporarily subscribe to NowTV when the tests are on....
