Yes indeed, RIP. I am not sure why but I envisaged him as far older than his 71 years.

Jean Alexander, Auntie, is 86 but one forgets Hilda Ogden was in Corrie ahead of the Duckworths. In a sense, if I remember correctly, the Duckworths took over from the Ogdens.
 
Think you are right Big Unc - I always remember those spectacles held together with tape at the corner.



however RIP Bill Tarmey. Sadly missed.
 
Yet another legend gone.

Coronation Street was a very good show in the 70s-early 90s. Often there were moments of great comedy - usually from the Duckworths or the Ogdens.

Bill Tarmey was excellent as Jack.
