Amazon and Logic

I had a delivery today from Amazon and because there was a Knife and Fork cutlery set included I had to prove I am over 18 to take the delivery, now I have been a Amazon customer for 19 years, along with living on a retirement park, in the past they have allowed me to buy Xbox over 18 games, Liquor for Christmas gifts without any question of proof of age
 
I think there is a legal requirement to evidence that the buyer is over 18 when buying knives which could be a police matter if not followed whereas if age restricted games were sold to under 18's that would be a Trading Standards matter.
