Summer 1982: A Last of the Summer Wine Photo Companion (NEW MAGAZINE)

How about self-publishing on Amazon? That provides at least some copyright protection. Miles Eaton did that for his 50 YEARS OF LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE.

That was Tom's ventriloquist's dummy, Waldo.

PDF would be terrific! Print on paper is always a struggle for aging eyes.

    Old Bridge Inn

It's a rich history, and not as widely known as it ought to be.

50 Golden Summers Celebration Weekend (26-28 May)

The hat is accurate, but other than that, it could be anybody. I'm almost glad that Tom Owen didn't live to see it installed.

    Who's your favorite character?

As usual, I'm going to be independent. My favorite character is Alvin. Roy Clarke wrote a very likeable character, and Brian Murphy played the part absolutely convincingly.

Attempted to introduce my boyfriend to Summer Wine

Most of the comments on the Holmfirth Community Facebook Group are friendly and indicate that it's a community of people who go out of their way to be helpful to one another. There are a few, though, who deplore boutique shops and wine bars, and mourn the loss of the butcher shop, the news agent...

Attempted to introduce my boyfriend to Summer Wine

Not to mention the evolution of Holmfirth and the other towns used as settings. As the mills closed, the stone exteriors of the buildings began to look cleaner. The café exterior would have required at least a weekly wash while the mill smokestacks were spewing coal smoke, so light-colored paint...

    Summer Wine Decanted

Before the CD set of the first season of LOTSW was reissued with captions, I captioned it for my own use. It was so labor-intensive as to be impractical, except in absolutely desperate situations. The AI captions aren't terrible. Between them and lipreading, I knew what was being said with...

    Book genres

Probably not audiobooks as we know them, but there were, and still are, Talking Books for the blind and visually impaired. When I worked in the public library in the late '60s and early 70s, I referred several people to the Library of Congress for access to them.

    Documentaries about Summer Wine

Did you eventually get a train from Euston, or did you end up heading toward Birmingham from King's Cross or St Pancras? One of the many times that I has bound for Manchester from Euston, all north-bound trains out of the station were cancelled due to a signal failure somewhere up the line...

Mouse (the character in "A Quiet Drink", not the rodent)

Now that you've told me which scene & character, I can visualize both and hear the dialog. Thanks.

Mouse (the character in "A Quiet Drink", not the rodent)

Yes. I didn't realize that until I looked at the list of his movie and TV appearances. Next time I see "Small Tune on a Penny Wassail", I'll watch out for him.

Mouse (the character in "A Quiet Drink", not the rodent)

I've been watching I Didn't Know You Cared. Larry Noble, the actor who played Mouse, turned up. His first appearance was in Series 1, Episode 3, "The Old Tin Trunk", then in Series 2, Episode 2, "Chez Us". He's also listed in Episode 4, "A Signal Disaster", but I have yet to view that one...
