Today would have John Lennons 85th Birthday. Probably the most famous of all the Beatles. Where were you when you heard the news of his Assasination in 1980 ?

I had just started work as a Cobol Programmer , on my 10 week training course. I recall it like it was yesterday, the trainer interrupted our training course to announce the news. There was just a stunned silence nobody really believed the stark reality , it was a shocking and such as very sad day.

Great picture this week of 4 of the Sumo wrestlers appearing at the Royal Albert Hall walking across the Abbey Road crossing . It got me thinking which 4 members of the LOTSW cast across every episode do you think deserve to be pictured on the crossing?

If I were going for my top 4 characters it would be Compo, Clegg, Seymour and Auntie.
If I go for those having most appearances it's Clegg, Ivy Nora and Howard.
However a further 4 that would make it look it's most iconic it's Nora, Compo, Sid and Wally.
Nowhere near the crossing are Tom, Babs, Mrs Avery and Stella!

Very good point! Now if I could get Edies Triumph half mounting the kerb on that picture it'd be perfect!
As Edie is on the crossing, it would be better if the car was parked in the background on the pavement, as if the ladies were heading back to it

These were particularly difficult for our Coach driver very narrow road lots of cars parked and trying to traverse the road somehow he managed it despite a bit of a stand off with a taxi coming in the opposite direction so so grateful he did , he deserves a medal for his efforts.
