I know Compo portrays serial scruffiness but the costume chosen for Seymour does not scream sartorial elegance and Saville Row chic the patches on the jacket have seen better days as has the titfer tat.

And Cleggy with leather edges to his jacket sleeves not much better


it was an area where you did not waste money on excessive tailoring

actually not sure that still is not true ...
