From Oct 2nd 1st class postage raises 15p to £1.25 for a standard thin letter, I dread to think how much it will be if the letter is a little thicker or a larger envelope, it does appear 2nd class will remain at the current price and according to various sources it makes no difference in the sorting and delivery these days between 1st and 2nd class
 
That is quite the increase all at once. We jumped to 66 cents and we've had two increases this year and five since 2019. Still cheaper than delivering them ourselves I reckon..
 
I've given up sending them, total waste of money. Totally agree about the time scale, I've send letters and cards both first and second and many times the second class got there first. Also Royal Mail just don't care, found someone's driving licence on my driveway a couple of weeks ago, I live 159 and she lives 109! Just sitting there in the rain.
