Seeing Double

If Jim had been around at the time they made Tarzan of the Towpath he could have given Compo, Truly and Clegg one of those many speedboats that were never won on Bullseye and saved Compo the agony of pulling the boat and falling in the canal.

I admit to cheating by looking up the full cast list on IMDb - it is all there. Two amused me:

Gamekeeper turned poacher: Tony Barton
Drunk / Landlord- A Short Introduction to Cooper's Rules (2008 ) ... Drunk
- The Crowcroft Challenge (2007) ... Drunk
- The Most Powerful Eyeballs in West Yorkshire (1995) ... Landlord

Never give up trying - 27 years between appearances: Jeanne Mockford
Florrie / Rose
- All of a Florrie (2003) ... Florrie
- The Great Boarding-House Bathroom Caper (1976) ... Rose

22 years between appearances: Peter Wallis
Attendant / Bus Conductor- Nowhere Particular (1998 ) ... Attendant
- The Man from Oswestry (1976) ... Bus Conductor

Jeanne Mockford was a great friend of Frankie Howerd and was Senna the Soothsayer in Up Pompei ,TV series and the film spin-offs, and was quite well known when the series ran . Her roles in LOTSW epitomise her status as an actress she would never be a star but always had some work . I can only imagine socialising with Frankie Howerd and his circle of friends would have been hugely entertaining. I know he had a rollacoaster of a career and many up's and down's but as a giant of British Comedy I imagine he and his circle of friends would have been treat as real stars wherever they went.

TUT...............

Would it have been Percival that Wally was stroking when Norah caught him outside in his pyjamas?? ;D

Did Tom Owen appear in earlier episodes than "From here to Paternity", in addition to his well known brief speaking part in "Situations Vacant" ? - I ask because a website I looked at today, mentioned a number of brief appearances in the show, both speaking and non-speaking. Was he lurking in the background in a few scenes and I haven't spotted him ?
