Correct. They show this a lot here on public television and it has grown on me over the years. Willis is not a major character, but his reactions to Leroy trying to arrange dates with the domineering (surprise) Ruby gives off vibes (at least some) of our favorite bric-a-brac assistant.
The title is a play off of "Young Sheldon" from Big Bang Theory.

That could certainly be true too! I wish they had picked that up for a regular series.
